What is Okonomi Talk?
One of the charms of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is the warm and friendly atmosphere around the teppan grill, where people enjoy chatting while cooking and sharing food together.
Okonomi Talk brings that same welcoming atmosphere to a lightning talk session.
With only five minutes you could share something you have been thinking about, something you have tried, or a small discovery you would like others to hear about.
Your talk might resonate with someone in the audience or inspire others to see something from a new perspective.
A lightning talk, or LT, is a short presentation format commonly used at conferences and community events. Most lightning talks last around five minutes and give speakers an opportunity to briefly share an idea, experience, lesson learned, or something they would like to introduce.

- Time : In the late afternoon on both days. Please check the timetable for details.

Three Features of Okonomi Talk
- There is no advance screening. Anyone attending the conference in person has an opportunity to give a talk by applying on the day.
- Speakers are selected through real-time voting by conference attendees, making this a session in which everyone can participate.
- A web application allows participants to follow the application, voting, and selection process in real time.
For Those Who Would Like to Speak
Anyone attending the conference in person may apply.
Please use the web application announced on the day of the event and provide the following information:
- Speaker name
- Talk title
- Brief description of the talk, approximately one sentence
- Contact email address
- Consent to the livestream and publication of the archived recording
There is no screening process before voting. Submitted talk titles and descriptions will be published in the web application and included in the attendee vote.
Please ensure that your proposed talk complies with the PyCon JP Code of Conduct (CoC). Commercial or promotional talks are not eligible for this session.
For Those Who Would Like to Vote
All in-person attendees are welcome to vote.
Please use the web application announced on the day of the event and vote for the lightning talk you would most like to see. Each attendee may vote for one talk.
You will be asked to sign in using the ticket ID associated with your connpass registration.
Only the talk title and brief description will be displayed during voting.
You are also very welcome to attend the session without applying or voting.

Application and voting deadline
Day 1: 4:00 p.m.
Day 2: 3:00 p.m.
Applications and voting will close at the same time. -
Speaker selection
The talks receiving the most votes will be selected, up to the number of available speaking slots. -
Notification of selected speakers
The organizing team will contact the selected speakers. The results will also be available through the web application. -
Confirmation deadline
Day 1: 4:30 p.m.
Day 2: 3:30 p.m.
If we are unable to confirm a selected speaker by the deadline, the speaking opportunity will be offered to the next person in the voting results. -
